We nurture students of any age to develop a fundamental understanding of reading, playing, listening, creating and interpreting music. We want to empower everyone with the courage to pursue the creative performing arts side of themselves. Whether that be playing for the enjoyment of yourself or others, we'll provide you 24/7 support along your journey.
Technical work (15min): Scales, arpeggios, exercises and more from "AMEB Piano Technical Workbook". All the fundamentals for hand dexterity, fluid control and minimizing hand injuries.
Repertoire (15min): Performance pieces which put together all the skills of note reading, rhythm, dynamics, articulation and interpretation. These are usually AMEB grade pieces or pieces or your choice.
Sightreading (15min): Note reading, rhythm, finger numbers and more from "How to Blitz Sightreading" for K12 students, or "Improve your sight-reading" for mature students. Build the basics to read any sheet music and bring it to life.
Maintaining integrity to stick with a plan, persevering each day to ensure consistent practice.
Taking responsibility for the effort you put in. Acknowledging that your progress is largely based on your contribution.
Recognizing that significant emotional investment is required before reaping the rewards of a beautiful performance.
Every agenda to be practiced will be recorded in your lesson notebook for you to refer back to when you practice. This includes the recommended number of repeats or length of time to practice each agenda. We expect all students to practice everyday.
