AMEB exam requirements
Technical exercise: exercises that build technique and finger independence.
Repertoire: a list of pieces performed to examine a variety of style, technique and performance skills.
General knowledge: understanding of markings, music theory and composer background of your repertoire.
Sight reading: playing a foreign passage of sheet music on the piano with little to no preparation.
Aural: listening ability to recognize musical elements such as rhythm, intervals, melody, etc.
Music theory (Grade 6+): principles of scales, harmonies, music writing, etc. that underpin most pieces.
